24 Chinese New Version (Simplified) (CNVS)

5Chinese New Testament: Easy-to-Read Version (ERV-ZH)

因为天国属于他们;
因为上帝会来抚慰他们;
因为上帝会满足他们的要求;
因为上帝会施予他们怜恤;
因为他们将与上帝同在;
因为他们必将成为上帝之子;

13Chinese New Testament: Easy-to-Read Version (ERV-ZH)

MATTHEW 27

54 Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.

WATCHING AND BELIEVING
看和信

What an amazing verse this is.

We always focus on the thief who came to trust Jesus as his last act and we forget about the Centurion who said these remarkable words.

So who was he?

Was He the man whose servant Jesus healed? Matthew 8
Was this Cornelius? Acts 10

We aren't told what his name is, but what he says is truly remarkable.

So what do we know?

Well he was in charge of the group of soldiers who crucified Jesus. He had probably done this process hundreds of times, the Romans chosen method of execution was to crucify the guilty parties.

What was different about this one then?

Something different had happened, the earth shook, graves were opened and all this time, he was watching, he had heard the words of Jesus that he had said from the cross, words that were completely different. He had heard Jesus cry IT IS FINISHED AND MY GOD MY GOD WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN ME.

He had probably heard the discourse between Jesus and the thieves.

These men were battle hardened, but they were struck with fear.

We are like the Centurion, all of us are watching at the cross.

But what is our reaction to Jesus?

Is it the reaction of the Jewish Leaders who said they would only believe if Jesus came down from the cross ( even if he had they still wouldn't of believed).

The only true reaction to Jesus is to say like the centurion.

TRULY THIS IS THE SON OF GOD

I hope you can say this and trust in His precious blood shed on the cross of Calvary to save you

JESUS FINISHES DEATH AND THE DEVIL.. FOR GOOD
John 19

30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, He said, It is finished: and he bowed His head, and gave up the ghost.

This is my favorite time of the year. Not just because spring is here, but because we can celebrate.. yes celebrate the death of Jesus and His resurrection from the dead.
These three small words in the verse above are some of the most awesome words ever spoken.
They signify something absolutely extraordinary, something that defies description.
They were the final words of Jesus on the cross and they weren't words of despair.
They were the words of victory, words of power and words that set many free. They signify the death nail for sin, death and satan. The final nail had not been put in Jesus.. it had been put into the devil and all his works.
I just love Colossians 2:11-15, Jesus had made a public exhibition of all the power of sin and death.

11In Him also you were circumcised with a circumcision not made with hands, but in a [spiritual] circumcision [performed by] Christ by stripping off the body of the flesh (the whole corrupt, carnal nature with its passions and lusts).
12[Thus [g] you were circumcised when] you were buried with Him in [your] baptism, in which you were also raised with Him [[h]to a new life] through [your] faith in the working of God [[i]as displayed] when He raised Him up from the dead.
13And you who were dead in trespasses and in the uncircumcision of your flesh (your sensuality, your sinful carnal nature), [God] brought to life together with [Christ], having [freely] forgiven us all our transgressions.
14Having cancelled and blotted out and wiped away the handwriting of the note (bond) with its legal decrees and demands which was in force and stood against us (hostile to us). This [note with its regulations, decrees, and demands] He set aside and cleared [j]completely out of our way by nailing it to [His] cross.
15[God] disarmed the principalities and powers that were ranged against us and made a bold display and public example of them, in triumphing over them in Him and in it [the cross]

The power of Sin and the devil, weren't just broken at the cross, they were totally smashed.. into the smallest pieces ever. They were/are unable to be pieced back together.
The bridge had been built. Sinful men could now approach Holy God, because it was finished. The supreme work of redemption had been done.. The Perfect Lamb had been slain.. God the Father was satisfied... Jesus had acted as our substitute.

Let me share one more thing.. During the time of Darkness over the earth.. that three hours.. God poured out his anger.. his righteous anger on His beloved Son.. all Of God's anger was poured out upon Jesus.. and that was destined for us . This is God's mercy.. not giving us, what we deserve. But giving us grace...giving us what we don't deserve.. amen

The Cross of Calvary is and always will be the place of greatest mercy.. it is where God showed mercy in abundance to unworthy sinners, but to do that, it had to be the place where God was merciless to His own Beloved Son. I cannot imagine the heart of God at this time, what Jesus went through for us, was totally amazing and just beyond words, but He had to face separation from His Father and the full force of God's righteous anger.. which we should have had and which we deserved.
I love the verses in Hebrews 10

19Therefore, brethren, since we have full freedom and confidence to enter into the [Holy of] Holies [by the power and virtue] in the blood of Jesus,
20By this fresh (new) and living way which He initiated and dedicated and opened for us through the separating curtain (veil of the Holy of Holies), that is, through His flesh,
21And since we have [such] a great and wonderful and noble Priest [Who rules] over the house of God,
22Let us all come forward and draw near with true (honest and sincere) hearts in unqualified assurance and absolute conviction engendered by faith (by [b]that leaning of the entire human personality on God in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness), having our hearts sprinkled and purified from a guilty (evil) conscience and our bodies cleansed with pure water.

A perfect and pure sacrifice was needed.. Just like the ram in Genesis 22.. one was provided.. Jesus.. God's precious Son.. It cost Jesus his life and broke the heart of His Father.. but JESUS was prepared to do it for us.

Believer in light of this sacrifice, mine and your only response is to bow and weep and offer our lives as a living sacrifice to God.. amen?

If it isn't then you need to re-assess your so called Christianity and repent?

GUARD YOUR MOUTH

Matthew 5
34 But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne:
35 Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.
36 Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black.
37 But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil

The subject that we are going to study, is one of the most important in scripture and is so important to the believer. We start off by taking these verses as our text, but we will be all over scripture, so please keep an open Bible at your fingertips.

You may have guessed that the subject is the tongue.. what we say is so important.. it reflects our Lord in so many ways and it is important to understand what scripture says .. about what to say and what not to say.

Many Christian's today say it makes no difference to swear.. the world does it.. and if a Christian swears or uses bad language.. then well we are only human really. This is not what scripture says at all.

We are to be distinct and completely different from the world. In 2 Corinthians 5:17, Paul states that we are new creations. in verse 21 he says that we are ambassadors for Christ, we are the Lord mouthpieces on this earth. Romans 12:2, states that we are to be transformed by the renewing of our mind, and not conformed to what is happening in the world.

Romans 12: 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Jesus states in Matthew 12:33-36, these words:

33 Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.
34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.
35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.
36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

He makes the connection between the heart and the mouth, whatever is in our heart will eventually come out of our mouth. He gives a stern warning, that any and every idle word, we will have to make account for before the Father.

What excuse is good enough for gossiping about another believer? The Lord is going to ask us why we did it. Can you answer Him?

Paul and James also have stern words so say, In Ephesians 4:29, Paul says let no corrupt communication come out of your mouth, in the very next verse, he says do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God. Do our words, grieve the spirit of God.?

Colossians 3:8 is another key verse, we are to put off these things, look at this list.

8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.

James in Chapter 3:1-13, writes possibly the greatest passage on the tongue, he says so much, please study this in detail for yourself, this is such an awesome passage.

One of the best chapters in the bible is Proverbs 15, the tongue is described here as:
verse 2 It uses knowledge
Verse 4 it is a tree of life
verse 7 it disperses knowledge
verse 23 it brings joy to the speaker
verse 26 words of the pure are pleasant

Does My/your tongue do these things?

Having found out that the words we speak are so important, how do we control the tongue? Well we have to let the word of God penetrate our souls, the psalmist wrote, thy word have I hid in my heart that I may not sin against thee, it is important to let the word of God penetrate our hearts Colossians 3:16.

There are some things the Lord wants us to speak

Speak Praise Hebrews 13:15, Psalm 34:1 Psalm 40:3
How Important this is, in Psalm 34:1, we are told that the praises of God are to be continually in our mouths, if this happens then there is no room for gossip, complaining or backbiting.

Speak Prayer Phil:4:6, 1 Thess 5:17
What an awesome privilege, you know the more time you spend talking and spending time with the Holy one of Israel, your speech will become more and more beautiful, because you realise you are in the presence of the Holy one and your speech will be reverent and good.

Speak Peace Proverbs 15:1, 16:7, Psalm 15:3
Jesus Said My peace I give unto you, my peace I leave with you. How often with our words in various situations. Do we bring the peace of Jesus into that situation and leave the peace of God with the person we are talking too?

Speak Unity John 17, Psalm 133,Ephesians 4:1-16
I was so struck with the verse in Galatians 5, which says
15But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.
This is so important, we are doing the same work for God, the devil wants to destroy the church and our fellow believers, let us not help him by our careless use of our mouths.

Speak Love 1 John 3:11-14
Galatians 6
10As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

Let us do this, in both word and deed, note it does not say, be good to those in your own church, but it means to be kind to all believers, including those of churches where we have doctrinal differences and that means with our words.
Do we speak badly of another church?.

Speak the Word Matthew 4:1-11
Let us use the same method, Jesus used to derail the devil. The word of God, it works every time, the power of the Word will always defeat Satan, it is our sword and we have to use it, as it gives us victory every time.

Speak the Name of Jesus Phil 2:5-8
The name of Jesus has authority, we can use this name , because it has authority. Peter and John used it in Acts 3 to heal the crippled man and still today the devil cringes at this name, let us use the glorious name of Jesus.

Speak Victory 2 Cor 10:4-5, James 4:7-8,Matthew 17:20

Let us always remember that we have the victory through Jesus Christ, let us always be looking up to Jesus and to Him, because He has won us that victory, let us never speak negative words of defeat, He didn't even when on the cross.

Speak Witness 2 Timothy 4:1-3, Isaiah 52:7, 62:6, Romans 10:9-14,Acts 4:19-20

 Redemption through His Blood
Ephesians 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
Redemption in the ancient world was not a religious idea, but rather a commercial one. Redemption was a term that specifically dealt with the act of buying a slave from the slave market in order to give him freedom. The term used for ‘redemption’ in our text is ‘apolytrōsis’, which carries with it a notion of liberation by the paying of a price. Christ’s amazing blood was the price paid, and it liberated us from the destruction of guilt and wrath.
To further understand biblical redemption, we should look at three other words associated with it in the New Testament. These words show us 3 distinct aspects of this great truth. The three words are,
1) Agorazo
This is a word which describes a purchase made. The Lord Jesus Christ went into the slave market of this world and bought and paid for us. Someone asks, “What did He use for currency?” That’s an excellent question. It finds its answer in 1 Peter 1:18-19 which says, "Forasmuch as you know that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:"
Furthermore, in Hebrews 9:12 we read, "Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us." Again in 1 Corinthians 7:23 we read, "You are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men." What wonderful news this is for all of God’s children. We have been bought by saving blood. Christ’s blood is the currency of redemption. It has never suffered devaluation, and it never will.
2) Exagorazo
Our second word is Exagorazo. Notice how this is basically the same word as ‘Agorazo‘. It’s agorazo with an ‘ex’ in front of it. ‘Ex’ means ‘out of’ or ‘out from’. So when this term Exagorazo is used, it means that not only were we purchased by blood but that we have been taken out of circulation and are no longer for sale. This is excellent. Such is the power of the blood that it has purchased us and taken out of the marketplace. We are bought with a price and thus removed from the control of both Satan and Sin. "(Galatians 3:13, Galatians 4:5).
3) Lutroo
This third word means to ransom, loose or to set free by paying a price. We have been bought---that’s good news, we have been brought out of the slave market of sin and death … that’s better. But now we discover that the blood has ransomed and freed us to live unto Christ. That’s the best! We read in Titus 2:14 "Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem (lutroo) us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works." (See also 1 Peter 1:18, Ephesians 1:7).
What a wonderful Saviour! What a mighty redemption! The term ‘Saved’ has become outmoded in many Christian circles. We are told it is an old fashioned word that puts people off. Not in my book! When we consider the redemption in Christ Jesus and see that it was His own blood that bought and paid for us, and see that He has taken us out of the market place of death and then see that he has set us free, we begin to realise that there is no better word to describe all of this than ‘Saved’. Here’s a hymn that sums it all up:
“Thank God I am free, free, free
From this world of sin,
I’ve been bought by the blood of Jesus,
And I’ve been born again
Hallelujah I’m saved, saved, saved
By His wonderful grace
The blood has been poured out,
He has brought me out
And shown me the way.”
And that’s the Gospel Truth

KAREN PARRISH

“But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, so that the surpassing greatness of the power will be of God and not from ourselves; we are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not despairing; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying about in the body the dying of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body! …2 Corinthians 4:7-10.”
我们四面受敌、却不被困住;心里作难、却不至失望;

遭逼迫、却不被丢弃;打倒了、却不至死亡;

We had this beautiful lesson in Sunday School today, and I just had to share it!
Those last words, "the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body" are sweet, comforting and beautiful words.
Thinking about the very Jesus living in us, His children, causes me to rethink priorities on so many levels.
The verse above begins by saying we have the greatness of power from God himself, and it is He in us, nothing we do or don't do, elevates us higher than the angels.
Paul goes on to say all the things each of us have felt, are feeling, or will feel or experience on some level, will not be abandoned, because that Jesus lives in us, meaning we have Him 24-7!
He cares about every little detail of our life and is included in our happenings.
We are His forgiven children whom He delights in.

However, you say, I don't feel Him.
That is where faith comes into play.
He said He would never leave us or forsake us, and we can believe or not believe.
For me, knowing He is always there changes my priorities.
Knowing I can talk to Him, ask Him questions and receive answers whether it be in the form of a prayer or just conversation brings me a lot of peace.
Do I always remember these words? "No", I get caught up in the world we live in just like you do, but the Holy Spirit often taps me on the shoulder to remind me who I am in Christ and that He lives in me!

We live in a world today where what was once right is now wrong and where wrong is now right.
God wants us to keep pressing on, not alone, but with the very Christ in us.
Since He lives in us, we too, will live forever.
Our early bodies, or earth suits will pass away, praise God.
God wants to live through each of us, and we can rest and trust Him to give us the peace that passes all understanding.
We can't trust our feelings to determine our thoughts or actions, but fully trust Him, no matter what we are experiencing or will experience.
He is our King and Master, who loves us beyond our comprehension.
Knowing that everything I experience, He experiences with me makes for lighter walking!
Keeping our eyes on our eternal home enables us to rest in Him, and gives us a peace for today that does pass all understanding!
